Went to eat at Hagy's right outside Shiloh Military Park once with the in laws some and drove through the park around sunset some years ago. I can't remember the specific field where we were, but I lost track of how many deer were standing there somewhere in the 40s. We estimated the number to be between 55 and 60 or maybe more. It's not an urban area, but it shows what can happen when there are few to no predators somewhere. None of them were very big, and a few looked pretty sickly. Did get a kick out of watching two young bucks go at each other a bit. Oh, and in and amongst them were close to a couple dozen turkey wandering through. We took some pics, but I have no idea where they wound up. I told my wife we should try to sell the photo to Bass Pro Shop so they could add a centerfold to their catalog.

Around here, traffic has taken over the role of predators.

I was actually thinking that when I posted.
