Is there a scenario where Niedemeyer moves to defense if we have an unbalance of coaches Offense to defense?
I didn't hear it, but apparently Hubbs hinted this morning on 104.5 that Sherrer would be in play at UF if Grantham left.
So Sherrer essentially gets demoted (DC to ILB coach and STC)? Should we be concerned about dissension in the ranks--there were some people that looked like they may be out the door who ended up still here.
Not sure I’ve seen this much change in a second year coach at Tennessee or else where. Not [itch bay]ing. Really like all the changes so far.
It feels so much different than the high-turnover 2011/12 offseason going into Dooley's last year. Felt like that year everyone was leaving a sinking ship and we were scrambling to replace them. This year it seems like we're making a targeted effort to upgrade whenever possible, but it doesn't really seem like the guys here especially want out. We may end up with similar rates of turnover (probably not quite--that last Dooley offseason was insane), but it feels really different.
I agree with Tar, it does feel different. The OC hire for example, Helton was being paid a high salary and I feel under any other AD, CP would have probably been forced to keep him on. I'm not sure on specifics and I'm just guessing here but I'd say CP didn't feel he could win with Helton so they parted ways. And even though there quite a few names being mentioned, CP and AD Fulmer kept that under tight wraps and came out with a good hire. Definitely not what we're used to, someone where we have to go"Who is that?" or "Why the F did we hire that guy?". It just feels that finally we have a competent coach and that the football program and the AD are on the same page and want the same things. As long as that doesn't change, we will be back.
