Thoughts on the class.

 

Meh. Guarantano can make it great.

 

For the numbers we could sign I think we did well, Would have loved to have seen another D tackle. I think our secondary got better.

 

I'd give it a solid B

 

I'm with you Oldvol. Gotta have a couple legit difference makers in every class. There is definitely quite a bit of a chance here. Some really talented kids.

Overall pretty solid. We got a lot better defensively and added quality speed on both sides of the ball. Got the QB we needed and some bodies on the Oline. 2017 has a chance to be our best class yet assuming shit doesn't hit the fan next fall.

 

Not a great class, but not a bad class either. Guarantontinomo and the DB'S are the high points with Kongbo

Brown would have made it alot better.

I would have like to have seen us get a stud RB as we will be reloading that position after this season, maybe we can sell early playing time to a 5* for next year's class

Yep. He wasn't a steal either. Everybody wanted him.

 

Short term

If Johnson (Juco DT) and Kongbo are legit early the DL is set. The rest of the D outside of proven LB depth is in pretty good shape.
There wasn't much that could have come in and contended with the amount of guys coming back

Long term

I think the QB is gonna be the best QB in the program in awhile
Would have preferred another OL and DL

Could have been better, could have been worse.
Need a big time RB next year.

 

In 2017 I would settle for 3 DT's and 3 Olinemen.

 

He is. Very good chance we are replacing 2 starters next year. They need one more in next years class minimum.

Many recruiting "gurus" are claiming 2017 is as loaded as Tennessee ever has been instate.

 

I think the 17' class will have a lot to do with the 16' season.

Only real complaint is no HS DT.
