Hi I'm hat, I have no data of my own to contradict the shipload of data supplied by several different posters, but all that data sucks. The eyeball test tells me me youth participation in baseball, and interest in the sport generally -- in stark contrast to what the objective evidence states -- is in fact growing.

I love people calling for baseball's demise when the largest growing demographic in the country is baseball crazy. Just another way for the stooges who realize their horseshit game is going away to make themselves look stupid.

Hispanics aren't the largest growing demographic in America? I guess you've got some phony bullshit chart to show it is actually Croats who give a **** about tennis.

So, by your chart, we should go ahead and declare football dead.

I guess we all need to get ready for an America where rugby and lacrosse are the big deals.

Good point. Nobody of Hispanic descent lives in America.

All the MLB owners need to sell their teams and invest in indoor soccer.

I think I read an article that hispanics that play baseball tend to be cops when they get older.

Actually, there is growing concern about the long term future of football. I'm not sure how that undermines the numbers for baseball.

this super bowl was the highest rated one in American history. college football is as popular as ever. the concerns over the long term viability of football are ridiculous.

I don't care. I'm just going to love watching it die.
