Lawson is a 4 star on espn. He's huge and will probably grow into a dt

Told my buddy earlier, if Bumphus played for Bradenton he would be a top 100 guy

Let's be real. A bunch of Dooley level recruits committed today.

I want consensus 4 stars. We have 17 recruits, an average of 2.9 stars, and are ranked 29th on Rivals. Any more "unparalleled recruiting days" like this and we're sunk.

When has a Butch Jones recruiting class looked identical on signing day as it did in the summer before the season?

There's a lot of big name prospects that Tennessee leads for. Butch takes filler first every year and every year people complain. He then whittled it down once the big time guys start committing. It's not necessarily a good way to do it, but he's done it every year.

It seemed like the 2014 class had stud players from start to finish. The past 2 years definitely seemed to play out that way.. But 2016 was still weak compared to the previous two.

That 7th on 247 or whatever is because of the way they do their formula and sheer numbers. It WILL drop. Butch needs to finish in the top 5 (consensus) recruiting annually to be able to compete in the SEC against the good teams. Yesterday told me that that's just not gonna happen barring an unprecedented number of decommitments of the current guys. I don't know if it's the rape culture stuff or the underachieving or the lack of legacies or what, but his recruiting competitive advantage of the first two years has gotten away from him. Anyone still optimistic that Butch's recruiting will keep us afloat after these next two seasons is drinking a lot better Kool-Aid than me.

    Very dramatic.

It's the fact Butch's in game coaching sucks along with cries of rape.

I can't imagine a HS school coach that cares about the kid supporting a player coming to play for botch.

If UT has a really good season we should see some big time prospects sign.

I'd be stoked that one of my players got a division one scholarship.

If that were his only option I'm sure he would be.

I don't believe Rivals has updated ranking. They are usually slow on that. Also, the average star rating is wrong.

This. I'll worry about recruiting if we have 2-3 losses by November.
