What I found as astonishing is his occupation up and until this happened. 9 years IIRC. Which put him in a gun license to do his job.
Sounds like the club had a lot doors - all of them locked except the one the killer was blocking. Kind of makes more sense why he was so effective. Most probably ran futilely to the rear exits and then were trapped.
Is that up to fire code? I can see why they don't want people propping open doors or leaving out the back generally, but weighed against emergencies...
I would think codes would require at least one additional accessible emergency exit for that type of business.

Seems a tad too convienent and pat. You just knew the closet gay rumors would get started. It's ok for people to just be nutjobs. And the interviews basically said he told them a bunch of stuff already reported in the media. As groves said I also could see him going to case the place and also to get up the nerve to do it. In the end it really doesn't matter though
The bit about him getting snockered and ranting about his old man seems pretty legit. Him having convo's via a gay dating app is revealing also....
Hell, they should just put it out there that he's gay to screw with whatever bullshit legacy this guy thought he was creating. That should be our new counterterrorism policy. We conveniently "discover" 800 gigs of gay porn on their computers after they are confiscated. Maybe he's also been hiding some Justin Bieber music, secret Hello Kitty tattoo, painted toenails, maybe a secret manuscript for a Broadway musical about a gay Muhammed.
