How wrong is it that I was going back and forth between piddling around with Motley Crue songs before and in the middle of practicing music for church on Sunday?

Every time I play bass I play the riff from Cochise, and if I play electric I play the riff from Bullet With Butterfly Wings, or Fat-Bottom Girls, or Gimme 3 Steps

 

I do things like that all the time at practice. The other day I was just trying to come up with a little intro for one of the songs we were doing when one of the other guys stopped me and said, "That's cool. Isn't that one of those secular songs?" He said "secular songs" in this hushed voice. It was so funny because I do it all the time in little breaks at practice, but at that time I was playing around with what we had just finished practicing. I've probably strummed through Rocky Top on the church sound system more times than any song we've done for church.

 

As a matter of fact, that's what it was. My daughter found out they are going on tour again and wants to go. She came in with her violin and challenged me to name a song for her to figure out and play. Somehow that turned to a discussion about class songs, and the one for my class was Home Sweet Home.

 

Feel really bad for my wife's co-worker. Good lady, has two daughters that are great, but her son needs to be kicked in the balls repeatedly for about a month.

 

Woke up this morning and my son says "Dad, the fridge is broke."

Sure enough, everything is thawing in the freezer. Fun fun.

Wow. I guess that’s better than it could have been. But I didn’t expect that. Usually that sort of activity suggests a hidden issue.

 

i don't think he wanted his wife to know his business was failing and he thought he could pay it back once things got better.
