That's a lot of $$. It seems a shutdown closer is an overrated thing until you're trotting Ryan Franklin out there. But I don't know if he's worth it.
He won't get past the third year of the contract.
He's got a few years left in him, most likely....but I can't help but feel that he will be an albatross around their neck by year four.
Damn near $1M per inning he'll throw. Yeah, that's smart.
