I've had every kind of whuppin there is. Words, switches, belts, bear hands, etc. Even an oar once. Luckily it was one of those plastic ones, I'd probably have broken something if it was wooden. And I clearly never learned a damn thing.
You're assuming the person doing it believes you. What if you really don't have anything to confess or report?
I won't assume that it isn't comparable, but it probably isn't for the hopefully vast majority of people.
Oh 99.9% of the time it was legit and vetted. My cousin was a little more stubborn and less quick to pick up on it.
Just so I am clear, I am not talking about true child abuse. I mean a whipping for kicking the dog or something along those lines. You know it is going to stop, and in the back of your mind you are really not fearing for your life. True child abuse is torture.
Mine was my granny "wait til your grandaddy gets home". My daddy was normally working. He rarely told my dad when he got home. I guess he figured I had gotten plenty from him. He was right.
That was Hollywood. http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-...rsh-interrogations-help-catch-osama-bin-laden http://www.cnn.com/2014/12/10/opinion/bergen-torture-path-to-bin-laden/
Hmmm, so the Senate reports says torture does not work, but the CIA says it does. The guys in charge of getting intelligence from some of the biggest pieces of shit on the face of the earth know less about gathering intelligence than a bunch of elected officials? That sounds about right. Explains why elected officials know more about fighting war than soldiers.
It's been known for thousands of years that torture makes people say whatever you want them to say. That's not helpful in getting good, usable information. Works great for political or religious dissidents though.
