Lathers and Maggit practiced yesterday and are expected to start. Christian Harris, who ran with the scout team last week, is ready to play. Also could be a Pig sighting. Florida has three or four defensive starters out.
Solid news on Lathers, Maggit and Harris I have heard CB Cody Riggs is out for this game with injury and LB Jenkins with a fractured thumb. Also LB Powell recovering from ACL injury will probably now miss the season although he likely wouldn't have been back for this game anyway. Are there other UF starters out that i'm missing?
That's a really fast recovery for Harris, isn't it? I won't complain, we needed depth at linebacker as quickly as we could get it, and he was showing pretty well before he got hurt, wasn't he?
Powell medical red-shirted for the season, Riggs and Jenkins will be out for around 4 wks. Their RB Gillislee has a groin injury but is expected to play.
Boy, if Gillislee isn't able to go or is hindered, that would be huge. He pretty much is their offense and has scored 4 of their 5 TDs.
I'm confident he'll play but to what extent his groin injury is I don't know. They had a list of injuries yesterday on ESPN's CFB segment and from reading around everyone seems to be sure he'll play. I agree though, if he's hindered that will only hurt an already struggling offense more. As JG keeps saying, "there's no reason to lose this game."
Did you see how he got hurt? It was awkward. As the game goes on, I expect it to start bothering him. This is the first time since 2006 where I can honestly say Tennessee is every bit as talented and well coached as UF. I'm not a particularly big fan of Dooley, but I do believe he's a better HC than Muschamp by quite a bit.
No, I didn't see it. He is their offense so if he's anything other than 100% that's only going to curb an already struggling offense. I just think this game has shaped up to favor the Vols big time with how well our offense is clicking, how aggressive the defense has become, FLA's struggling offense, and injuries on defense. I'm foaming at the mouth...
From what I understand, Muschamp is more concerned about Gillislee than he is letting on - which is typically his MO. I expect Gillislee to play but definitely not at 100%
