Police respond to reports of active shooter in Chattanooga

The initial feel is this is really, really bad.

 

I'm seeing three or four different places media is stating the shooting is occurring in or around. Naval reserve, Army recruiting, Riverpark...

 

Same.

Just got a text an officer was shot as well.

 

Let us hope it is not horrible.

 

TFP just took down there "Army recruiting" update. So lots of misinformation as everyone hurries to break news first.

I hate that, induces panic.

TFP appears to just have crashed, so it may have been Army recruiting. Who knows. Maybe all are correct.

 

i'm not sure why the mayor thought that was appropriate to tweet out.

TEMA is considering doing a No-Fly Zone for Chattanooga, per Channel 9 in Chattanooga.

 

What happened in Cleveland? Did something happen there, too?

Situation is very unclear. i don't think anything else has happened,!-/3: upon what they've said.

 

Precautionary lockdown of the mall area, it may have been lifted by now. All the recruiting centers are over by the interstate now in the target shopping center, but I haven't heard whether or not they've temporarily closed them. Joe guy has posted additional patrols and officers at the national guard post and recruiting center in Athens.

 

Noticed there appeared to be a much heavier police presence here in town in the last hour or so.

 

You know how information flows in these situations. There was rumors he was heading up I-75

 

Tfp reporting the 4 recruiters were killed

 

If so, it's probably to keep news helicopters out and police in.
