That doesn't really support the idea the Washington Post lied, as the person posting says, just that the NYT quoted some people from the administration saying something different happened. So, someone isn't being honest here, but we're not really sure who. If it's enough to get GOP congressional folks wanting to take a look into it, then it's a problematic item.
Is it a better policy to make decisions based upon the number of people supporting one story over another? Yes, though, a serious breach of international law warrants an investigation, one would think.
It's a little bit more than that, wouldn't you say? It's an extrajudicial killing with mixed messaging from the administration and a potentially serious international law violation. This is pretty textbook as far as a situation for an investigation. To cast it aside as a slippery slope to endless investigations seems a bit of an odd observation. Surely you understand the potential severity of this alleged incident, right?
Yes, though what hasn’t been fully rooted out is how it happened and which powerful people are involved, benefitted or turned a blind eye. It should have been a massive story a long time ago but this is the last thing in the world mainstream media wants to touch. It would have / will hurt Dems and also paints an ugly story about the Somali immigrant community (not implying the entire community is to blame speaking purely in terms of the obvious narrative about fraud $ stolen vs economic contributions).
That's just boats we chose to stop. If we still got it wrong over 20% of the time then it's not great to be summarily executing people
The person carrying out the mission acted within his authority. I'm not going to waste time on a boat full of drug smugglers bringing poison into our country or anyone else's. Pete is not getting removed from his job, no matter how badly you want him to be.
Authority or legality? What's the proof these were drug smugglers and not fisherman? Or, even, human trafficking victims? Is this justifiable under international or American law or procedure? You badly want this to go away and are willing to suspend you adherence to pesky legal issues to pander to your MAGA loyalties, but this is not likely going away until there's an actual investigation, which is the proper and effective course of action here.
It was a "fishing boat" with four high powered outboard motors like you would need to get across the ocean and barrels loaded on it. Have you ever seen a Venezuela fishing boat? Yeah definitely just some fisherman...lol.
I think it is common for deep sea fishing boats to use 4 outboard motors. https://www.saltwatersportsman.com/boats/how-many-outboard-engines-fishing-boat/
