That one was terrible. She was going to the doctor and got caught up in the madness. She told them she was autistic and took a minute to process situations but they still dragged her out of her car, cut her seat belt, cuffed her and, literally carried her out to jail. She wasn't even an illegal immigrant.
It appears from numerous videos that they are going up to people and demanding papers (ID's, drivers licenses, etc.) without probable cause. If so it would be a clear violation of the 4th Amendment. They also appear to be going into peoples homes without warrants; another violation of peoples Constitutional rights. Even Trump supporter Joe Rogan is comparing their actions to Gestapo and Nazi's. Which we have been told is outrageous as that kind of talk could lead to death and violence.
On another note, the Trump administration is now saying that the Officer who shot Good had internal bleeding (aka a bruise).
Had dinner last night with a friend coming in from Minneapolis for the week and we engaged in some interesting talks about what's going on there within our group. He is not as staunch a lefty as I am, a center-left very strongly religious man who goes to a fairly conservative church. The mood in the city is obviously very tense and very strongly against the actions of ICE. He noted even his pretty conservative fellow churchgoers were of the opinion "this is way too much". Lots of people getting harassed just walking down the street and getting pulled over at interstate off ramps, those type things. He was concerned about the situation blowing up further, of course.
This is exactly the problem you keep creating: you collapse three distinct questions into one emotional argument and then accuse me of not understanding when I refuse to play along. Typical for you. First: the concept of the dollar being American does not mean every dollar is taxpayer money. Ownership and liability still matter. Foreigners owning USD, private parties holding USD, and private spending using USD do not create taxpayer obligation. That point has never been rebutted. Second: you keep switching from funding to ownership of public property mid-argument. Whether a building is public property is a legal/permitting issue, not a funding issue. Oversight of construction on public property exists regardless of funding source that does not magically turn private money into taxpayer money. You are changing the claim because the funding argument failed. Third: sunk cost is not ongoing taxpayer liability. A past taxpayer-funded asset being altered with private funds does not create a new taxpayer expense. If it did, every privately funded renovation of public property would be taxpayer spending, which is obviously false. Your hobo analogy proves my point, not yours: the issue there is permits and legality, not funding. Illegal construction doesn’t become taxpayer spending just because it happens on public land. At no point have you identified where taxpayers incur new financial responsibility in the privately funded example. Until you can do that, invoking “government-backed legal tender,” “we the people,” or abstract philosophy is just noise. This isn’t about crayons or metaphysics. It’s about a simple test you keep avoiding: who pays if it goes wrong? If the answer isn’t taxpayers, then it isn’t taxpayer funding.
As it pertains to the groups they want to investigate? If so, yeah I think that's a pretty fair assessment.
If they are going to start trying to investigate and mess with the ICE watch people... they are going to find themselves [uck fay]ing with a lot of liberal white suburban wine moms. That's not going to go over terribly well with anyone except the staunchest of the supporters, I don't imagine.
Trump yelled "[uck fay] You" twice at an auto worker this week before flipping him off. I can't wait to see the Democrats commercials heading into the mid-terms. Mr. President, I can't afford healthcare insurance. Trump: [uck fay] you! [uck fay] you! [flips the bird] Mr. President, Pricing is rising so much that I can't afford food. Trump: [uck fay] you! [uck fay] you! [flips the bird]
That guy got a gofund me and it's up to 360K. I'm definitely yelling at Trump if I see him and camera's are around. I'll take that cash all day.
Well if there is a face of the Party that I want to see front and center for the mid-terms it is Chuck Schumer.
