Has there been another football program in the hsitory of the ncaa be as much of a soap opera as ut? And sorry of confusion of earlier post.
Haven't seen anything concrete on VQ, as Brent and the staff only report what they can confirm, but the DR rumors are definitely out and about.
And to reply on the soap opera situation, I would think that the Mike Price deal at Bama would rank right up there. Only coach I can think of that gets fired before coaching a single game.
It's been so long since Tennessee has been constantly bowling that we've forgotten the annual "academically ineligible" suspensions that came every December.
The cliff notes of what Hubbs just said on VQ is that basically it was a meeting between DR and CDD in which he was told to walk the line and represent UT with class on field, in practice and in the classroom. No mention of suspension. I will add that there were earlier rumors on the VQ board that DR had not been attending class as he should. But it is strictly an unconfirmed rumor at this time.
Just to add on further, Hubbs also mentioned things didn't start going bad with Da'Rick until after Hunter got hurt. Sounds like, once he became the go-to guy, he went into diva mode.
That understandable when you are forced to be the savior on offense. When your opposite WR is Zach Rogers, you have to be the go to target.
Dooley would only acknowledge that there was a meeting. Da'Rick Rogers' status appears in limbo ยป GoVolsXtra
