I was reading a discussion some people had about their personal interactions with individuals who had narcissistic behaviors, usually husbands or parents, and how they translate this, or foresee, towards Trump's present and future actions. Without exception, they felt he would go scorched earth to protect himself and exceptionally vindictive (obviously).

Most interestingly, though, were the sentiments this behavior would often entail them to be easily manipulated by people in areas which did not concern or relate to him, which is why it is known in the White House you want to be the last person to talk to him because he'll do what you want quite often, and there will be lots and lots of threats, many without follow through.

The last one applies here, I think.
