Not exactly. Most have said since day one that they were going to impeach him.

Knowing something is inevitable is different than setting about to do it.

So now we are comparing him to a murderer? Do you think people in American are dumb? Serious question. If this was a gross act would people not either vote him out or not vote for him at all?

I absolutely believe people are dumb.

There is no single piece of anything that would cause a lot of people to vote for someone else over Trump.

They might skip the election, but they won't vote for the not Republican. And that can amount to the same thing.

If a cop follows you for 500 miles, you're going to get a ticket.

    Not true.

Not voting for him absolutely hurts him.

Hurting and changing the outcome are not the same thing.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

So it would not change the outcome in states that he barely won? I bet it would.

Thanks for stating something an incorrect belief that you hold.

Let me further break it down, waste of my time as it may be.

The saying is that if a cop follows you long enough, they'll find a reason to PULL YOU OVER.

But here is the nuance... just because you get pulled over, doesn't mean you're gonna get a ticket.

You're like the guy talking about screendoors on submarines over here, Joe.

This is simple math. There are a finite number of votes.

If you don't vote, you hurt BOTH SIDES EQUALLY.

If you vote for ANY side, you only hurt one side.

Also true. Thanks for that point as well.

It was an analogy. How about head of a ponzi scheme?

No, people are not dumb. Well, not most. My mother and father both voted for Trump and are ardent supporters of him, and they are not dumb. But they are scared because they see their country changing and it scares the shit out of them. And he feeds those fears and is a manifestation of that fear that many in America feel.

And impeachment is not a replacement for the vote nor is the vote a replacement for impeachment. It is part of a mechanism to get a criminal who is literally outside the law (he cannot be indicted while in office) out of office. Otherwise, why is it even in the Constitution?

What about the people that did not vote last time (because they did not like either candidate)? If they vote for a Dem and the person that voted for Trump last time does not vote at all does that not hurt him?

If people that did not vote last time vote for anyone, they hurt the party that they did not vote for.

Someone that does not vote hurts both parties equally.

Does the other side not do the same to African american voters and immigrants...etc?

I would argue Trump’s loose language with regard to immigrants and giving Stephen Miller a platform neutralizes any assertions of democratic fear mongering.

Yes. But this is not about that. Just explaining why he got elected.

This is about his impeachment for a singular act. Perhaps multiple acts when you throw in obstruction.

Has nothing to do (for me) about why he was elected, who voted for him or what clothes he wears.
