Respectfully disagree. I was born in Tennessee but have spent most of my life in Georgia. There’s no Georgia in me whatsoever.
What part? My family is generations old up there. Big Lick, Pleasant Hill is where most of my folks came from. Now my dad's side of the family is out in Homestead. I spent every summer from memory through college up there and Fentress Co. at the "big farm" in Clarkrange. That was wild and wooly in the 80's and 90's. Grown a little since.
Southern end of the county. Approaching the corner with white county and Bledsoe county. Not too far from the Canet Fork River. Almost in the center of the triangle between Sparta, Crossville, and Pikeville. But you can get to Crossville a lot faster because of where the roads are.
I love all kinds of different food but home-made Southern food is the best. If you say you prefer stack cakes over a real cake, I'd say you're letting nostalgia guide your hand... but real Southern food is damned tough to beat. Especially if we throw in the Creole/Cajuns and the Lowcountry in the mix.
You m'fers are terrible. I open this thread and expect some new stuff from CP, I read the last two pages and now I'm hungry as hell.
You know, a plate of pulled pork, hoppin' john, turnip greens and macaroni and cheese is about as rib-sticking as you can get.
