who is on the market and is stupider+less self aware than Pruitt? That's your next head coach here. Just a long string of AD's one-upping the last guy on finding these gems and no indication anyone cares to stop it

We would improve from 2-8 to 4-4 this year. He would play Bailey. Excited yet?

And here I thought the psychological experiment being done on UTs fanbase was over.

We are just entering Phase Two of the study, apparently.

So in the last 5 games,we got manhandled by Alabama.

We led Auburn 10-0 before giving up 27 unanswered.
We led Arkansas 13-0 before giving up 24 unanswered.
Led Georgia 21-17 before giving up 27 unanswered.
Were down 17-7 before giving up 17 unanswered to Kentucky.

Has anybody figured out how a team capable of looking so bad in the second half appears to be somewhat decent, at times even good, in the first half?

Lack of haltime adjustments and anticipation, obviously, but from a defensive player standpoint, theres only so much you can do before mentally done when you see the lack of leadership and awareness. Lbs reactions to JGs fetal position sack going into halftime is one example. Exasperated

And we were doubling up Kentucky in yardage and offensive points, so even the one deficit is deceptive.

That Kentucky game, we were trailing Guarantano 14-7 and leading Kentucky 7-3 before giving up 17 unanswered.

Yep. That halftime score was solely a result of #2.

I really can't figure out how we can be solid for 30 minutes, then a complete cluster[uck fay] for the next 30. It seems unpossible.

They're scripting the shit out of the offense and show defenses alignments and combos that aren't consistent with what they've seen on film. So much time and effort is being wasted on polishing a turd at QB.

I can subscribe to this in part, but I'm not sure it explains why we don't suck for the first half. Are our scripts that good? Are opposing coaches not capable of adjusting to them til halftime?

Its not like the first halves have been offensive shows. Scoring 10, 14 points in a half of college football is pretty weak. Just so happens, weak looks strong when followed by disaster and incompetence

I'll confess to having watched little in several weeks, but there was a change at strength and conditioning off season. It doesn't help the defense much when your offense keeps sending you out on the field as well. I know they won TOP a few times this year, but it has seemed like there was little rest for the D at times.
