    Exactly my thoughts.

Would kind of be a red flag. Make a decent AD say to himself, "Maybe I should rethink this one."

I agree it makes sense, but the general attitude would be "if they want him they can pay for him."

I figure everything is negotiable, and that it happened often. But I could be wrong, of course.

Thinking about this rationally.... If I'm an AD anywhere in the country and have to make a hiring decision on either Butch Jones or (insert ANY coach not named DDIAPOS) I feel 100% certain I'd go with the other guy hell, I'd hire Jim Donnan over Butch. I'd freaking hire Charlie Weis over Butch... I'd hire Mike Shula over Butch...

If it were down to Phil Fulmer and Butch I'd hire Phil.

Depends on your attitude toward the guy leaving and what it could cost you if you keep him.

I haven't heard of it, but I have been thinking it. It's much cheaper than firing the guy and if he stays, he WILL be fired after 2017. It seems stupid to let him hang around knowing there is a 90% chance that happens.

And, here is the deal. Not every job is for every person. Sometimes both parties are better off with a change. As a business owner, I run into that often. I have allowed people to work 30 days while interviewing and even found them other jobs. No severance. They don't go unemployed. We are both better off. Butch doesn't belong at Tennessee and he knows that.

"We're all good, if he leaves like he should"

This weekend was circled three years on the calendar in which we would have the experience and talent playing for the conference championship. Butch blew it and he knows it. He is only here now for a paycheck.

You know who could pay his buyout with their pocket change:

    It begins with a "C"

    And ends with "al-Berkeley"

I think that both Tennessee and Jones are looking for their respective backup plans, with the first to seal the deal paying to tote the note.

Yup...this year was either going to accelerate momentum or start the implosion. There was never much in between for Butch.
