Hopefully the buyout increase is small (or front-loaded to this year, when we're not firing him anyways). Raising his salary to just above Kentucky's coach is expected, just hoping we haven't meaningfully tied ourselves down too long
This is more about leverage and job security than it is performance based. I get and completely understand that people will be upset about this but, it's all apart of the coaching world now.
My feelings, too. This is my school, alma mater and team. I just can't believe that it has fallen so far that .500 and barely bowl eligible garners a raise and extension. If some other team really wants Butch, and wants to pay him more with more years for a .500 record and cliches, they can have him. I just want to win again. I just want to win.
