California schools could potentially be disqualified from playing in the NCAA. Looks like a biggest pecker contest brewing

 

looks like the bill should be copied on the federal level and the NCAA should get put in their pen.

 

Won't be long (if not already) that when it comes to big time football, the NCAA has lost all of its teeth. They should just accept it.

Wouldn’t surprise me to just see California say, “[uck fay] it, we’ll just have a California National Championship instead.”

I am surprised a student athlete hasn't pressed this to the courts. If it was all private universities, sure. But 90% of big time football is state funded, and this infringes on the students 1st amendment.

How I see it.

 

how so? I am all for them having the ability to make money off their image, but how is this 1st amendment?

 

The State via the School is telling them what they can and cannot say and do with their own public image.

 

well but they can do it, they just won't be eligible as amateurs.

Jared Lorenzen has passed away. Loved him watching him when I was a kid.

 

Sad. He was fun to watch play.

 

He was one of those guys that made us all go "See! I could do that!" Buy we couldn't. Dude was incredibly gifted, just couldn't control his appetites.
