Yes, I think that was really the root of the disaster. It made the players mentally check out, as if the game was over... and it wasn't. Run it with two hands on the ball 3 times and punt, or win it on the field by getting a first.

They started at the 20. Could have just went for it on 4th and team has to go 80+ down two scores. The kneeling makes no sense.

The announcers on the punt block... Most boring call of all time.

“oh, lookee there. He blocked it.”

Yeah, if the other team has timeouts, and I'm in that situation, I don't take a knee until I know I can keep possession.

Hell, if they kneeled on 4th down, they still would've won.

The weak kick was a perfect squib. If it was supposed to be one, props to her. If it's all she could do....that's terrible.

Have to squib or kick a line drive to the 20 and not see a defender until the 40

I have no issue with her kicking.

Letting her address the team though should have never happened.

I'd love to see a girl get out there and boot one to the endzone. Issue for me is playing the best players and other players could kick better and farther. Hell, their punter was 8/9 fgs as a senior in HS and the region ST poy. They won't say it, but some of the players looking to opt out are doing so for this pc stunt and not over their coach being fired or covid concerns.

The players opting out are doing so because the team sucks, and the easy way out is to pull the cord on the season

Talking publicly about what happened in the locker room should have never happened.

Like i said, they wont say it. Part of what you said is true but some who werent planning on it changed their mind after a kicker became more important than playing football.

Like I said. They suck. The other part is just fluff.

I've also had quite a few girls play football and even start for me. It's never been any issue from the boys or girls on the team, because the only difference we make in them is that they get dressed in different areas. But besides that they're treated just like a football player, so there's no difference for a division.

Your girls probably earned their way, didnt come in the middle of the year on a losing team and take natl headlines. Tis the difference.

I imagine it was supposed to be that. The other option is her kicking it to, idk, the 20 and then having to help cover a kick

I'm with you, except I don't blame the player for taking the call and getting on the field. And I don't think any locker room speeches are my business. I blame the national coverage. It's them. They are selling an event that shadows more genuine achievements of other women before her.

Yeah but the girl part doesn't matter to me.

A specialist that only kicks, shouldn't address the team in that capacity in a spartan sport while others are putting their bodies on the line.

    Man or woman kicker.
