Randy's Rants - Confederate Flags

No problem here either way. Just thinking your posts could be worthwhile.

 

Haven't read through the entire thread but outside of living in the north for 2 1/2 years when I was very young, I'm born and raised in Tennessee. I'd never consider myself "country" in fact I hate country music but I'm a Southerner and love the south.

That being said I've never understood the rebel flag thing. My family came to America through North Carolina in the 1700's and have either lived in TN or Mississippi ever since. My dad and I have never once talked about the rebel flag, he never said a word positive or negative about it while I was growing up. The only time I ever saw it was when I came across a redneck typically driving a truck.

To this day I associate the flag with ignorant rednecks and as a southerner have never understood why people would fly it.
