Saw it again yesterday. Didn't realize how powerful ion torpedoes were. I do hate how we have the vader scene and then you realize how lame his fight with obi wan, which would happen, what, days/weeks later, really is.
I finally saw it (twice) over the weekend. I found it a bit meh, and I'm not sure exactly why. It's all there. It looks great (with the exception of Tarkin's face which I found quite distracting the second time through). The script is acceptable to good. The acting is pretty good across the board. There's no Jar Jar or Ewoks running amok or a little kid crying "yippee" here and there. It's mostly what I've thought I wanted from the franchise over the years, and I just thought it was okay. It checked all the boxes for good, but something was lacking. Perhaps this movie has caught me at a bad time, or I'm tiring of the franchise in general. Maybe I'm getting to that age when I'm ready to start watching the Hallmark channel instead of any product that may be have a tragic ending. I just dunno. I wanted to like it, but I'd be faking it to say I really enjoyed it. Sent from my R1 HD using Tapatalk
I paid more attention to the tarkin CGI the second time after people were critical of it and I actually liked it more.
I like the idea, but I thought it was cartoonish. The facial movements seemed a little unnatural below the eyes Sent from my R1 HD using Tapatalk
