Posted in Topic, but had a guy in here that moved to US in late 17 because of this. Here on visitor VISA but applies for work VISA in mid May.
I asked him questions for about 5 minutes mainly out of curiosity. Said to best of his knowledge there's about 60 families that had come here from South Africa. 5 live in the Maryville/Knoxville area. Said he was never physically abused/persecuted, but many have been, including some of his friends. He's an electrical engineer/designer, so he's going to be fine, but he's an exception, not the norm IMO.
You'd think that the absolute failure of Mugabe would push nations towards looking before they leap on these matters, clearly not.
It's not nations, but rather strong men preying on people's insecurities, fears, and resentment. We aren't looking before leaping right now. It remains to be seen if we get lucky or not.
