Severe Weather Thread

    Roughly 10-15” over about 4.5 hours, depending on where you were, in the hardest hit spots. Highest in areas northeast of town. West side was less. Around my office was more like 8 over about 3.5 hours. Which honestly doesn’t sound crazy but it piles up around here with all the concrete.

    DI works was an Air Traffic Controller in Houston. 4 inches of water in the basement started shorting out equipment. Almost ad to shut down the airspace.

    There’s a basement?

    IAH was in ground stop for most of the day - it’s a pretty busy airport so I’m sure that caused nightmares.

    Cars (sedans) were literally covered completely in water sitting on I-45. Cars were in water over the bottom of the doors all the way across Houston on I-10. A semi was up to its window in water on 59. It came down in a hurry.

    There are contiguous severe thunderstorm warnings from the Gulf of Mexico to NE TN.
