Everything is ok here. Wind is about 20 mph, no water issues as of now,no loss of power. We definitely dodged a bullet.

I saw some videos from the general area, scary stuff. Glad he’s ok.

There's a mandatory 12 pack in his cooler at all times

The man installed an ice maker at his house strictly for coolers. Orca coolers were a game changer for him

My man. The house I lived in most of college had a commercial icemaker. At some point I'm going to buy one for my garage and never buy ice at a gas station again.

We're good. Still assessing damage, but doesn't appear too severe.

Something that is known but unintuitive (and thus seen as alarmist by climate skeptics) is that small amounts of sea level rise translate to big differences in storm surge with a given amount of storm strength. Thus, we can expect storm surge to generally become a bigger and bigger deal going forward. The SLOSH model NWS uses can look ahead at different sea level rise scenarios, and whoa buddy. Coastal communities are more vulnerable to storms than they've ever been but this will be the good ole days later.

With Papa Groves' defensive stand, middle Tennessee is 2-0 against hurricanes this week.

I can only barely fathom the anger people from later generations will feel when watching clips of the climate deniers speaking. James Inhofe bringing a snowball to the floor of Congress type stuff.
