No, it will be because we failed to get points which were there for the taking. I think we'll qualify, but the poor offense is a pattern now. For as ballyhooed as this generation of players is, they haven't really dominated these "lesser" teams in the way they should. In my opinion, it's due to a mediocre manager, but it's also very early in the qualifying cycle and we have time to get a more cohesive attack. The opponents, though, are going to get much better than the one we faced last night.
I watched the first half last night. 1) that field was awful and was grown specifically to slow down play. Grass was over the tops of the players shoes. 2) It looked like 1996 USA, punting the ball back and forth. No build up. no solid passing. Was dreadful looking. 3) El Salvador was playing like a street team, grabbing, hitting, trying to intimidate, and of course CONCACAF officials don't do shit about it. I turned it and the UT game off and went to bed.
again, that was the first concacaf road experience for a lot of those guys. they aren't used to that level of hacking and flopping. I expect you will see a lot of improvement going forward
I'm fine with the idea they will get better at handling the opposing stadiums. They surely will. I am more concerned with the talent underperforming in their level of play on offense. This is a recurring thing, even on home soil.
About ready to head down to the stadium. Hopefully, tonight is the night our offense finally shows some life.
What the hell did McKennie do? He got in trouble at Juve too, they had a big party at Dybala’s house during Covid lockdowns
I always appreciate when an anthem singer doesn’t inadvertently change the key when he or she gets to the rockets red glare part
