And though UT officials released a statement Thursday claiming Tyndall went through an "extensive vetting process," the truth is that he was hired within hours of first being contacted by Tennessee last April. And now Tennessee, on some level, is probably regretting it.

This story is barely a few hours old, and the Vols have already lost their best recruit. He's a top-60 prospect from the Class of 2015 named Chris Clarke. The 6-foot-5 guard decommitted from Tennessee in the wake of the news breaking and committed to Virginia Tech, and it's naive to suggest those two things aren't at least loosely connected.

Bottom line, this has already cost Tyndall and Tennessee something.

Looking at that Parrish article, it's even more depressing because he can't manage to cheat right and did it again after getting caught. So, he cheats and he's stupid? Fantastic.

 

Will any of this have any blowback on UT if found to be true? other than having to do another coaching search, of course.

 

This would be a good start.

 

Don't see how. I assume he will get a show cause. Southern Miss might get hammered.

Personally, I'm absolutely flabbergasted to hear that UT met with, offered and hired a coach...all within a matter of hours.

 

Shocking, I tell you. Just shocking.

 

The UT AD is far too organized for that to happen. I'll believe it when Hyamms reports it. Until then, I will treat it as slander.

 

We have the dumbest Administration.

Not just in college athletics.

Not just at the University level.

The dumbest of any Administration. Anywhere. Maybe of all-time.
