The narrative from the local sports guys is that he needs attention from the medical staff every other play. Of course, their observations about the team last preseason proved to be almost 100% incorrect. (OL is awesome, wide receivers aren’t any good, Keller Chryst will get just as much time as JG, etc.)
Crouch and Akporoghene are huge. Nigel Gaddy isn't too bad McCollough is pretty damn good Banks is fun to watch Bituli was always around the ball JG still stares them down
Crouch has no idea what he's doing at times, especially in coverage but when he reads a run play and gets moving, it's sheer violence.
The OL still worries me. The defense did blitz a lot, especially early on, and when they backed off a little we seemed to block a little better. I dont know. I think we'll be better than last year on the OL, but just not sure how much better yet. Long way to go till start of the season. Hoping for a miracle on Trey, and that Kennedy can get back and be a good center for us. I think theres a decent chance Wright and Morris both end up starting...if not the first game at some point during the season. Calbert and Akpo are both very large men. I am cautiously optimistic about the defense. Definitely need Solomon to get eligible and for Savion William's to be ready to contribute immediately. I think we're good to go in the secondary. Depth at LB looks to be a concern. Need Petersen to come on badly. Too will probably play a lot as a true freshman.
How did the other qbs look? Came into the spring kindof hoping JG was slightly dinged and Maurer as an EE eould have a chance to win the job, but sounds like he still practices like hes supposed to be in HS at times.
Shrout has a cannon and Maurer didn't look bad. Both made some horrible decisions. Maurer has a chance to be fairly good here, but my bet is Harrison Bailey starts after JG
