I think what we need in a coach is someone who does care and bleed for this, but also at the end of the day knows we are all assholes and this is bullshit. It just is bullshit that really matters to people. That can keep them even keeled. That, and the money.
Everyone freaking out over Salter but it’s a much bigger deal if Willis and French’s suspensions linger. As it stands, we’re an injury or two away from open tryouts for linebackers.
If any of these guys are dismissed, it’s trouble, but I really don’t get the freak out over Salter. Last year we had a proven unreliable quarterback, an interception machine, a dude coming off a pair of head injuries, and Harrison Bailey. So everything Harrison Bailey did was a huge deal. This year, we have Harrison Bailey going through his first spring practice, a grad transfer who has started elsewhere, and Salter. Plus we have a coach who has a track record of success with quarterbacks. It’ll suck if Salter is gone forever, but he really doesn’t have to be the guy tomorrow. And yeah, the linebackers are concerning.
JH mentioned the UT process with those kids, but also mentioned being there to support snd help them. I think he will do whatever possible to keep them on and in house punish them old school way, unless the University somehow doesn't allow him to.
I think Heupel’s demeanor makes people forget he was a heisman runner up national champ QB. I think he’ll handle pressure just fine.
Dooley and Pruitt were just assholes. Butch was soft. Heupel just seems to not care as much about public opinion
It’s less his demeanor and more that he looks like Mike from 90 day fiance. I know one of you knows who I’m talking about.
