    Both were used very often on the Smith farm growing up.

    I realize this isn't necessarily a misapplication, but has anyone else heard hyperbole pronounced 'hyper bowl'?

    You're selling that word way short. It has more meanings than that. It's a tool, weapon, and even just handling something roughly. All are acceptable uses of maul.

    I actually heard that one back when I was living in TN. I suppose it's possible the guy was speaking of some magnificent new football championship.

    As my wife wakes up, she goes through carcinisation.

    Acceptable usage?
    Drives me up the wall and my wife does it all the time. She gets pissed because I correct her every time. My mother in law tried to argue that "I could care less" is correct because it's meant to be sarcastic.
    Do you punch them in the throat? If not, you should.
