I haven't seen anyone on here talking about it but this situation has the potential to get extremely ugly before too long. With the new arrival of AA missiles to Syria (from Russia) it will be interesting to see how Israel responds. Russia obviously backs Syria while Obama's "red-line" for Assad has been crossed. Syria is important to Russia both militarily and economically so understanably a stable Syrian Gov't is in their best intrest and they will do whatever it takes to keep it that way. Also, I'm sure you all have read how McCain visited the rebels (AQ/MB linked terrorists) which is perplexing to say the least. Unless the "rebels" have acquired an air force we're not aware of this is a clear message from Russia for Israel and the West to stay out of the way. It's a difficult and complex situation to say the least and one I hope we can avoid getting involved with. I don't blame Israel for being proactive in their quest of self-preservation but we are obligated to support them if shit hits the fan and it very well could.

How in the hell are we mixed in with those "rebels", and why would we want to be? It seems like it's a no brainer for us not to get involved.

The best case scenario in this is that we stay out of it and let them kill each other off.

And it's not like those rebels, aren't going to be an issue after they over throw the government in place.

Well since al-Qaeda has joined the rebels, I think our President will help them.

The only business would be Israel if it came to that. As it stands, we have nothing to gain from helping either side. Russia backs the current government so let them fight the rebels and AQ/MB folks for a while. I think we've fought our fair share...
