We have yet to lose a game that we shouldn't have under his regime, though we've had some ugly losses in games where we had an outside chance (UGA twice, OK, Mizzou, etc). However, we're on the upward trend with some of the best, albeit young, talent we've seen in over a decade. The mindset I speak of is the narrative that depicts him as a rube on the sidelines but an idiot savant off the field. He hasn't completely proven anything to me other than he's a masterful recruiter and salesman of all things Tennessee. And while I was in agreement with nearly every extreme opinion of Bajakian on here, and will quickly move that way with Debord is he proves to be equally inept, my opinion of CBJ is a positive one. OC hires aside, I think he's done a decent-to-good job on the field. I'm not going to fault him for close or ugly wins because, in the end, they're still wins. The ugly losses are a stain on his reputation, and deservedly so, but the gap in overall depth and talent between us and the very good to elite teams has been, at time, immeasurable. The fact that he's replenished that talent and depth so quickly makes him on even footing with me. All that being said...it's put up or shutup time. The goal is 9 wins, no matter how we do it--9 regular season wins, 8 regular season wins and a bowl victory....doesn't matter. 9 wins. Anything less is failure in my eyes.
The DL is going to be legit, LB's should be decent, not sure about the secondary yet. OL should improve, QB is good, WR's are good (haven't heard much of North), and the RB's are good.
I'm still on the fence about Jones' gameday coaching but I agree 100% with this. There are no excuses for Florida 2014 and there are even fewer excuses for Florida 2015 as their talent level has decreased and ours has gone up considerably.
Damn it. I knew I was wrong when I posted that...that's what I get for posting pre-coffee. You're absolutely right.
Secondary has a chance to be really good. Sutton is a stud, Randolph is a borderline NFL player and McNeil and TKjr are going to split the SS snaps. If Justin Martin can stay eligible and live up to the hype, he's an All SEC talent. Gaulden is going to be a very physical nickel CB. Moseley and Foreman are good depth at CB.
Your posts could improve and still suck. Ooooooooooooooooooh Just felt like giving a classic VN response
