IP, you remember which thread has my Star Trek watching order in it?

I finished original series, and am now 30 seconds in animated series, and not thinking I'm going to survive it.

Animated? Appreciate the thoroughness but heading to TNG is best.

Animated series is for diehards only. And even I have not watched them all. Go straight to TNG.

Throw in the even numbered movies in there (and III).

That animated series has always been difficult to watch. When I was younger, I didn't like it. As I've aged, it's really not gotten any better. I'd enjoy watching reruns of Robotech far more than Star Trek animated.

I'd watch all the movies though. The first one is a bit dull in the same way 2001 was. The rest of the odd ones have major flaws but are easily watchable.

Haha, was reading about Klingons on wikipedia to get the true spelling of their homeworld, and saw this:

The Klingons were created by screenwriter Gene L. Coon, and first appeared in the episode "Errand of Mercy" (1967). They were named after Lieutenant Wilbur Clingan, who served with Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry in the Los Angeles Police Department.[3]

Well, I guess I really AM a Klingon.

    That's interesting trivia.

Speaking of trivia... After years and years of cluelessness, Wikipedia enlightened me yesterday concerning a movie I had seen in the theater with my dad when I was a kid. I have literally spent decades watching any sci-fi movie from the 70s trying to figure out what movie it was we had seen. All I knew was there was a line in it where a robot said it was freezing its ball bearings off. I figured it was low budget and not popular, and I had watched several crap movies over the years in my search. Anybody got a clue what movie it was.

Yep, I had no idea there was a theatrical release. That line was cut from the television broadcast.

So I made it to Motion Picture. At this point, shouldn't Sulu have a command? Why is he still driving the boat?

This movie wouldn't be 2 hours long if they didn't spend 10 minutes side scrolling at every opportunity.

He was straight in the show. He had a wife.

He was just played by a gay man.
