I just don't know who they are going to get that will fit their mold. They have hired badly since Carroll left and I am not sure they will get it right this time. Mostly because there is not a lot of guys out there that are a fit for them or that are willing to make the move. They can be a powerhouse with the right coach.

 

I'll do it for $5 million a year.

 

With the cost of living adjustment, that's about $75k a year in Knoxville

 

it's a very easy place to win at. maybe the easiest in the country. they virtually have zero real competition for much of southern california for recruits. even their worst coaches have had top 5 recruiting classes. it's amazing how badly they screwed it up. there are probably 20 coaches who could win big at usc without any major problems.

 

Might be the easiest place to get to the college football playoffs each year. Don't even have to really leave the state to recruit. If they don't find the right guy this time they are just too stupid to win.

 

So who’d be #1?Maybe they could they get Tom Herman, he’s a California guy.

Leaves OC role at Bama, to take a Head Coaching job...does well (or ok) in that HC job....only to voluntarily go back to the SEC to take an OC job at a lesser school than Bama. Not passing the eyeball test...like most Basilio rumors.
