I think he's a kid who's never really had to try, and will be interesting to see how he reacts when he's not far and away the best player on a team. He seems to be a big fan of Walter Nolen

 

they almost willing moved up a few years ago but a lot of teams in 4a made a big push for that not to happen with them and worked out some deals.

 

If true, 4A schools cutting backroom deals to dodge Alcoa is as cowardly as Alcoa accepting them and continuing to play in 3A after winning 7 straight titles.

 

Alcoa would dominate 4a too.

Agree, open enrollment should be subjected to a multiplier like TSSAA did to private schools before they all went D2.

There are to many classes but I have no problem with more kids having a chance to end their playing careers winning state.

 

I'm old school when it was just AAA, AA and A. Best 3. Now it's like the best 10. Too many. Shouldn't be so many "state champions"

 

5A would eventually wear them down over rhe course of the season due to depth but they'd probably win it more times than not.

They'd be a 6A quarterfinals annually.

 

There were also a lot of rumbles locally that Alcoa talked Nix (their DC) from taking the Catholic job by promising him Rankin was going to retire after this season.

We shall see where this goes.

Well, sounds like it depends on dad. Rodney Garner might be the best person he could ever hope to play for if he wants to make the most money
