Carpe Diem or Dortmund. Frosted as a dark horse

 

Can't pick one. I don't have any familial or regional affiliations with any horse, owner or trainer.

 

I like Carpe Diem too, but despite working for a race track for 4 years, I suck at picking horses.

 

always pick the one who takes a huge dump before the race.

 

makes sense. if he's relaxed and all. I just signed up for a twinspires account seeing as how we are having a Kentucky derby party and we wanted people to be able to bet. might not be a good thing for my future finances.

 

Well carpe diem just got ****ed. Time to pick a new horse. There has to be a decent longshot with this field.

 

I need a Nashville to pull for or im out.

 

I only like Walking Horses. Always seem to get knocked out in the first heats though.

I've never gotten the draw to horse racing. Is it that entertaining to watch?

 

not if you aren't gambling (drinking helps too). I learned that the hard way after 4 years working at a race track. the actual race is exciting, but you are talking about 90 seconds.

I like watching it because it's over so quickly and I think about the money that changes hands over 2:00.

Put even a small amount of money on it yourself and the enjoyment factor increases exponentially

Saw that secretariat time would have beaten him by 15 lengths. That's insane.

 

Especially when Murican Pharoah ran the 2nd fastest time ever.

 

Actually it was only the sixth fastest time ever. (Second fastest triple crown winning time)

 

Yeah that's what I meant, but I guess I never thought there could be a difference.
