I'll never forget when I got the PM. Started writing my memoirs. Knew it would be downhill from there.
Both posts couldn't be more accurate. Best of luck, Card. We will be praying for you, the wife, and the wee one.
no news in these situations many times is good news. if they doctors are rushing to make a decision then you know there is a major potential problem.
No news.... Sounds like a similar situation to our first daughter turned out to be nothing more than a scare.
I didn't find the births of our two at all scary. Usually the mad dash to the hospital is unnecessary and over dramatized. Our first took about 8 hours after we arrived, so when the water broke on the second one, I told my wife to wake me when her contractions got down to ten minutes or so. We took Lamaze classes, and the first one was textbook accurate, went step by step just as we were taught. The second was a little more out of order and sped up about triple. We were in the labor room, and I recognized she was in the last stage before actual delivery. I told the nurse a few minutes prior that I thought she was moving along quickly, and she examined my wife, gave me that look complete with eye roll that said, "oh great, another nervous father", and said we had a couple hours yet. I walked down to the nurse station and told her that my wife wasn't going along with her estimate, that she needed to go to delivery now. I got the "now you're ****ing me off and wasting my time" look, but she came back with me, and went bonkers yelling OH MY GOD SHE'S CROWNING, GET HER TO DELIVERY STAT. I had to laugh it was so comical her being a much experienced nurse. The doctor wasn't there yet thanks to the nurse's estimate of time to birthing, so a delivery room nurse and I were the only ones helping my wife.
Wife had a pretty bad incident this morning. And contractions picked back up. Not looking as good as it did when I left last night. Doctor hasn't come by, but I look forward to what he says. In other news, I love Golden Girls. Was such a classic show.
Doc said she's not going anywhere anytime soon. Not surprising. Official medical diagnosis is "wait and see".
