How accurate is Chris Lowe? He is reporting that Tennessee is finishing a buyout for Pruitt, and that an official announcement is coming tomorrow.

I agree 100%. I’m in the minority but I’d rather keep JP at the skoo for one more year than hire another mid major. I just want a plan the decision makers agree on.

I don’t mind it if it’s significantly reduced like cut in half or something. If Pruitt agrees to that it shows his heart is in it so that’s something I suppose

 

Depends on how reduced, but it probably means we’re not getting hammered by the NCAA, it gives Pruitt some extra motivation going into this year, it reduces the cost to us if he ends up getting the boot, and it puts our next coaching search not in late January during a pandemic.

Honestly that’s probably better than I expected, so if that happens, I’d take it.

 

As long as the buyout savings is significantly more than the $1M raise, its probably the best option as this is a terrible time to hire a coach especially since we only do it on the cheap.
