The Butch Jones Doomsday Clock is now the Jeremy Pruitt Doomsday Clock

Between Kentucky and Arkansas, something inside me broke. There's just no rationalizing it anymore. The program is not special.

 

Even when we were up 10-0 or tied going into haftime, I was never excited about this game.

The last month has completely drained my enthusiasm for something I love. I didn't think we would ever be worse off than at the end of Dooley's tenure, but we are pretty damn close if not there already.

 

I think think we are flat. The same. Irrelevant, and able to lose any game at any time. We beat Auburn everywhere but on the score board, and the game wasn't even close.

 

Actually, I take that back. We lost by two scores and there was a 14 point swing play with that 100 yard pick. So there it is. There was the game.

 

The pick 6 was damning.

How a senior QB keeps making those throws is baffling to me but it's a broken record at this point to be mentioning it. The entire QB situation we have going on is unlike anything I have ever seen before. We are doing the exact opposite of a team that should be growing into and establishing a solid base for winning in the future.

 

the thing is with Pruitt and i know people don't want to hear it this morn, but the players arent turning on him. Many don't want JG leading them though, and thats a problem. Again, an issue Pruitt and co can't see evidently. He isn't a leader or well liked, and plays with no fire, and 18-21 year olds watching will be affected mentally, which affects play on the field. Imagine going to play against the best in ncaa each week, or going to a job each week with a manager or ceo who is incompetent, and how your work would be affected after repeated [uck fay]ups.

 

Damning? Yes. But even worse, it was predictable. Every fan and player, including JG, was pretty much waiting for it to happen. The Auburn player mentioned JG staring at his receivers. So the ONLY ones surprised are the only ones getting paid.

“But he practiced so well this week!”

 

How many more wins would we have had with this guy the last 2 or 3 years...

 

I don’t think that’s accurate. Darnell Wright tweeted that he’s the scapegoat, then deleted.

 

1 player of 90 tweeting after another loss then deleting it doesnt mean the players dont want to play for pruitt.

How the immediate follow-up to him saying it wasn't his job, he's here to coach, wasn't "and how is that is going?" is as damning an indictment against the Knoxville sports media as anything ever.

 

HFC at a major college is a hell of a lot different than coordinator. It takes a special person to be a coach,motivator, baby kisser, hand shaker and PR specialist.

And Pruitt cannot do it, not at this time.

 

We aren’t beating Vandy. This derailment is about to go from trainwreck to uncontrollable inferno.
