They were supposed to perform tonight. Dammit I’ll be 50 in a few months.

 

I’m not a musician, so I don’t know how technically good the drums in Everlong are, but I don’t know that there’s a better drum fill in all of rock music than the one in the chorus of that song. I’ve been obsessed with it since the first time I heard it.

He was an all timer

 

This one hurts. Taylor was one of my favorite modern rock drummers. He was just damn solid and had a cool style about his playing, at least IMO. And if you disagree GFY. @emainvol Not a very technical fill but it fits perfect for that song.

 

Absolutely gutted. He was only 50.

The Foos are some really great dudes. This one sucks a lot.

 

It made me want to play drums

Unfortunately I was nowhere near coordinated enough to play drums

 

My favorite thing about Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins is how Dave always told people Taylor was better than he was

 

I’m 51 and someone like this or an aquaintance dying near same age seems like a weekly occurence. It definitely changes how you see things on a daily basis.

 

Yeah that’s about what I was going to say. Not mind-blowing technically but always what the song needs.
