He is down a break so it won't be easy. I don't have money on this one, but I would lean towards Nadal. But did y'all see that third set? Djoker was just disgusting
TGGRN prevails! Djoker double faulted on match point. 7 French Open's for TGGRN. 11 slams overall. 1) Any chance that TGGRN is now in Djoker's head? 2) How many slams do you think TGGRN will end up with? 3) How much confidence does this give TGGRN going into wimbledon? 4) Why in the world is TGGRN better on grass than on hard courts? 5) Who has the best chance at Wimbledon besides Djoker and TGGRN? Look at the results from recent majors: 2012 French Open Rafael Nadal Novak Djokovic 2012 Australian Open Novak Djokovic Rafael Nadal 2011 U.S. Open Novak Djokovic Rafael Nadal 2011 Wimbledon Novak Djokovic Rafael Nadal 2011 French Open Rafael Nadal Roger Federer 2011 Australian Open Novak Djokovic Andy Murray 2010 U.S. Open Rafael Nadal Novak Djokovic 2010 Wimbledon Rafael Nadal Tomas Berdych 2010 French Open Rafael Nadal Robin Soderling The last 9 majors have been won by two guys. Has this ever happened before? Oh, yeah it has. The below 11 consecutive majors were either Nadal or Fed. 2007 U.S. Open Roger Federer Novak Djokovic 2007 Wimbledon Roger Federer Rafael Nadal 2007 French Open Rafael Nadal Roger Federer 2007 Australian Open Roger Federer Fernando Gonzalez 2006 U.S. Open Roger Federer Andy Roddick 2006 Wimbledon Roger Federer Rafael Nadal 2006 French Open Rafael Nadal Roger Federer 2006 Australian Open Roger Federer Marcos Baghdatis 2005 U.S. Open Roger Federer Andre Agassi 2005 Wimbledon Roger Federer Andy Roddick 2005 French Open Rafael Nadal Mariano Puerta
I don't think Nadal is in his head. Without the rain break, Rafa was about to be humiliated. Once they get back on a bar court I think the match willore than likely favor that level of competition.
Without the rain break, they would have been playing in mud and with completely water-logged balls. They should have stopped playing 30 minutes earlier. I just think that the Aussie Open showed that Rafa was on the same level as Djoker on a hard court. He lost, but that match really could have gone either way. So I wonder if the extra momentum/confidence doesn't put Rafa right back on the same level as Djoker on every surface.
I don't disagree about the rain break, but the point remains that Rafa was having his ass handed to him. I don't think Djok is capable of pulling that off if Rafa was in his head.
The "in his head" was phrased as a question and intneded as a talking point. I agree that it's an overstatement. But perhaps there could now be in Djoker just that smidgeon of self-doubt that we haven't seen in him since the 2010 US Open. Confidence is no small deal in tennis.
Would the average poster on this website rather a) watch Wimbledon, or b) be kicked in the **** I say b.
