Tomasino and Tolvanen are starting to come on. It’s not a team that can win more than a series in the playoffs, but man if Saros gets hot (like he is right now) they are hard to beat

 

I don't remember which thread the Vols hockey sweaters were discussed, but they're back on pre-order. Got a white one on the way. I think orange ones would look better if Davey were in white

Preds are going in dry

 

Its a "get off my lawn" take but I really hate that 'assistant captain' and 'jersey' have more or less replaced Alternate captain and sweater

 

Growing up in Canada, the first time I ever heard it referred to as "alternate" captain was when I moved to Nashville. And that was a year before the Preds got here.

I do agree on sweaters though.

I do catch myself saying jersey, but try my best to always say sweater. It’s easier for me to understand that one since hockey has moved into so many non-traditional markets over the last few decades. The popular sports in those markets all wear “jerseys” so it was a completely foreign concept to a lot of folks that the uniforms would have different terminologies

But some of that is marketing too. The NHL’s own shop calls them jerseys

I used sweater for a long time, but every time I went to look for sweaters online it narrowed my search to less items. So I just started using jersey.

 

They may need to bump the NHL prize money up to 2 million after this effort.

 

They should just scrap it altogether. Its not an entertaining sport when everyone is half assing it

 

Midseason ASGs in a sport like hockey are dumb as hell. Why risk getting hurt?

 

"For the fans" as we all are embarassed for the guys out there.

Shut the whole thing down for a week and call it a day.

 

The last time the ASG was interesting was when John Scott happened.

They should have just shut it down then. Nothing will ever top it
