Hollywood definitely has a high percentage of liberals who think their thoughts on political matters (probably on anything, really) are far more important than they actually are. There are some conservatives with the same problem, just not as many in show business.
Sure, there are more liberals in the film industry, but that doesn't mean there's this monolithic "Liberal Hollywood" group think occurring. Plus, Tenny has made the argument before that Hollywood, especially his concept of this collective liberal policy he ascribes to "Liberal Hollywood", is some sort of leader in liberal political philosophy. It's why he seamlessly transitions from a rant on Hollywood to "liberals are cowards" in the last couple of lines.
I think Hollywood has a high enough liberal percentage that his generalization doesn't constitute a gross exaggeration.
It's certainly more nuanced than Tenny presents it and "Liberal Hollywood" certainly isn't driving political thought amongst liberals.
I'd say a good chunk of Hollywood is about making money more than a political worldview. I'm not arguing that Hollywood is not much more liberal than conservative, but rather that there isn't a wide conspiracy there to push a liberal agenda.
I agree, I think the thoughts and such are quite legitimate. Most of the cats are dirt poor and work their way up the ladder. I think this is the root of the "bleeding" heart that wants to help others not go through what they have gone through.
