Legit question - Can he reject a free agent signing? I know he can veto trades, but I’m not sure about signings.
I don't think so. I knew at some point the new salary cap would cause some crazy shit and eventually it was going to lead to something like this happening. It is a bad look for the NBA when the season is essentially over before training camp.
Why draft and build when you can buy a team plus pay a luxury tax? Parity, my ass. I am looking forward to the reality TV show come to life with Lance, Lebron, Rondo and Lavar Ball.
Our only hope is a severe ankle injury for Steph and a locker room blow up between Draymond, KD and Boogie.
Can he actually veto trades? I thought Stern could only veto the Chris Paul trade since the league technically owned the New Orleans Hornets at the time.
They are playing by the same rules as everyone else. Boogie is in a unique situation, coming off the Achilles injury and having a bad locker room rep. He can show out, stay in line and win ring and then land a massice deal next summer. The Warriors are just better at the game than anyone else. They again stack the deck but I'm not sure there is anything that can be done about it.
Blame the players association if you don't like it. League wanted to smooth out the salary cap increases when the new TV deals were signed. Players association refused and wanted it all at once. Warriors front office is just doing what they should be doing.
