Nick had the Mavs coming out of the West, and he had them coming out of this series in 5. So he's definitely taking it on the chin with this one.

That said, I think a lot of people were saying the same thing about Wiggins when this trade happened. His performance there has been a bit surprising.

EDIT: Worth noting - Nick picked the Mavs to beat the Suns, while I think every single basketball analyst at ESPN picked the Suns. That's the thing about being in the "take" game. Sometimes you hit and sometimes you miss.

EDIT 2: I'd also point out that Golden State's path has been pretty damn easy this playoffs. Denver without its second and third best players. Memphis without Ja. No LeBron/AD Lakers to deal with. No PG13/Kawhi Clippers to deal with. Avoided the 1 seed. The "GSW will never make another finals" comment looks silly now, but they've gotten quite a bit of help from the injury bug affecting other teams.

Nick ate his crow on the Wiggins stuff this morning:

Didn't watch the game, but 38 free throws to 14 seems... odd. Jayson Tatum shot more (16) than the entire Heat team.

Booker gets first team, and the Suns get 2 players in. Meanwhile, the Heat get 0. Makes a ton of sense.

It's not that crazy, the Suns won 11 more games than the Heat and Butler only played 57 games

Booker wasn’t good enough to be first team unless you’re putting a ton of weight on them being the one seed. And if you’re putting a ton of weight on that, then you gotta put someone from the Heat on there.

Or they're putting weight on 64 wins, and Miami wasn't the second-best team and doesn't really have a must-include candidate. Forward is also deeper than guard

Top of the East with no “must-include” candidates for all NBA, huh? So Spoelstra won coach of the year, right?

The voting for these things is broken.

    Kyrie got a vote. lol

Spo was a finalist, but the Coach of the Year won 64 games with missed time for his best players as well. The "Top of the East" Heat were closer by record to 10 seed Charlotte than they were to Phoenix.

What additional benefit do you get for being a 64 win one seed vs a 53 win one seed?

Spo got 1 first place vote despite being first in the East with no all-NBA players and his best 2 player missing 25+ games each. Udoka got the same number of first place votes despite being the 2 seed in the East and having a first team all-NBA guy who all but 6 games. And that doesn't even mention Brown, who only missed 16, and Smart, the DPOY, who only missed 11.

That was one of the worst halves of basketball I’ve ever watched. And they have to do something about the picks. It’s as if nba has told them not to call it so the points will be easier and superstars can get open easier. Every on ball pick is blatant moving

Home court in the Finals, and whether or not playoff seeds reward those extra wins, voters are allowed to be smarter than that

Spo has the 1 seed and the best player in the series according to you and keeps getting blown out by Udoka’s Celtics. Boston has been the best team since January or so

Jimmy is clearly injured. Kyle Lowry is a shell of himself. Herro is actually missing games. Are you even watching?
