In this era, a person of his stature can make a nasty comment and someone could take it as a mandate to shoot up Catholics. He needs to be careful.
Half-cent more or less admitting Memphis State can't play with the big boys in NIL world this morning makes me smile. Memphis State fans implying they are a mid-major as a result makes it all the better.
Funny thing is look at Colorado. If he was more liked by his sporting peers he would be able to go get money like Deion does. He is not so he has to depend on Memphis state booster money and his name which only goes so far.
Memphis State aside, do kids nowadays even remember who Penny Hardaway was? Deion Sanders is an iconic name that transcends the sports world. Everyone knows who Prime is. Penny Hardaway? Meh not so much imo. Nice lil player in his day no doubt, but he’s not exactly world famous anymore
Huggins arrested for a DUI last night. 830pm. Outside Taylor swift concert. Man is trying to get fired and shock us all at once.
He’ll be fired for cause within the next week. They already made him take a pay cut for the gay slur on the radio incident.
Some of the stories I have heard about him in WV lead me to believe he will probably just stick with business as usual. Probably won't leave the state much though.
The NCAA's Independent Resolution Panel ruled on Thursday that LSU men's basketball and football will be on probation for the next three years. The panel, which is a part of the NCAA's Independent Accountability Resolution Process, also ruled that former LSU men's basketball coach Will Wade will be handed a two-year show-cause order and be suspended for the first 10 games this season as the new coach at McNeese State. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/ncaa-announces-rulings-lsu-football-163957256.html
Three years probation for KU. No further punishment for Self. I guess that the FBI calling Kansas a “victim” allowed the NCAA to basically ignore what took place.
Let’s check in on the Kenny Payne era at Louisville: He now has as many losses to D-2 teams as ACC wins. Yikes. Dude’s definitely getting fired this year.
Knight was a great coach with exceptional basketball knowledge. His Indiana teams from the mid-70s to late-80s are coach's porn for any aspiring college sideline walker. His issue became his ego and how his temper began to damage his team. They can say all they want about kids from the 70s and 80s being different, but he became a lot more into being this larger than life figure by the 90s and his teams would wear down by the end of the season, tired of the beratement. As a Wisconsin native, I'd note he was nearly the Badgers coach in the 70s, but it fell through at the last minute. Part of it was talking with Bo Schembechler and his near hiring experience with the Badgers. Having Schembechler and Knight in Madison would've made my childhood much different.
Which is just code for "my generation had to be tougher than today's kids" which has been said, as we learned, since Roman days and ancient Greece, and probably since 100,000 years ago when Grog told Thog how weak today's cavemen were.
It’s true though and his or Pats type of coaching which was sought after by many back then wouldn’t float with todays players and it starts with the AAU camp coddling and number of handlers involved nowadays. Kids also couldn’t just leave to go play at another school the next year if they weren’t guaranteed minutes.
