That’s actually a little longer than Briles has been a solo OC.

    Its questionable to me.
They seemed to be fine before he went there so I'm not sure he's done something they wernt doing before. He may be great but he doesn't appear to fit what Pruitt appears to want to be. I'm not sure Pruitt can survive a high stakes gamble if it's not producing fruit in 2 years.

Both have been extremely successful in short careers.

He's done enough for me to be ok with it.

Gundy has hired OCs that have gone on that have success.

If I read correct info, Briles actually runs the ball more. You would think that aligns with Pruitt.

Price making a lot of the fact that Briles not using a traditional play sheet and not necessarily having a hard copy play book. Almost enough to make me think Tennessee is pushing that info out there.

IMO, if it came down to loyalty to Friend and/or others, it could bite him in his rear like Jones.

Also, Maryland making a run at the strength coach.

Ok State offense was in top 10 in total offense this season.

Last 5 years (since Yurcich arrived)

They have averaged 38 points a game and 474 yards per game.

I don't think it's necessarily a bad hire but the obvious worry is how much control he had over the offense.

Briles has had offenses put up big rushing numbers.

I question the fit and Pruitts ability as a green HC to let him do his thing more than his ability to run an offense.

I think the not having a traditional playbook is bullshit being thrown out.

That’s no secret that briles has his own terminology and doesn’t believe in play books.

It’s a fairly simple system that doesn’t have a ton of concepts

Roster kind of sucks. It's Cam Akers, a decent qb and a bunch of CUSA guys on offense

OK State had near 1,500 yard rusher in ‘17. On top of Mason throwing for 5k.

I’ll take 75% of that and call it a day.

Was hoping he would approach it like Saban has the ost few years... you can call your stuff, but if you forget to hammer the running game and the pass isn’t working, there will be some yelling.

Cam Akers ended our season his senior year. Absolute freak of an athlete. Has a nice arm too. He played QB bc they had another back that is at Southern Miss now.

Pruitt has to spend much time micromanaging the offense and we are in for another disaster.

    Yeah.

The gamble is Saban wasnt trying to prove he just needs some time to win. He had already done it and with game managers at QB for the most part. Saban could fall back on his D and win 10 in bad year.

Their oline makes Tennessee's look like the great wall of Dallas

I’ll state the obvious, I don’t know a damn thing. Now that that’s outta the way, this looks like it could play out similar to the Helton hire.
