Farther is for measurable lengths, distance is just a crutch way to remember. A time span is a measurable length.
Farther is more commonly used concerning physical distance, but it is not physical distance only. Doesn't matter, though. Further can always be used for farther, annoyingly.
A-Smith, stop reading. Gentlemen, the scenario for a shot at the Belt is moving apace. On September 10th, Arkansas secured the belt from TCU and returned it to the Southeastern Conference. Yesterday, Texas A&M defeated Arkansas and has set us on a clear collision path with the Belt when we travel to College Station in two weeks.
This angle gives a clear rooting interest against South Carolina this coming week, as if they take the Belt they could turn around and lose it to UGA, thus making the Belt evade us entirely since we will have already played them. In terms of the Belt, we need TAMU to win in Columbia and retain the Belt. Otherwise, we need South Carolina to beat UGA and UMass for us to get a chance at it.
